“Teacher Sentenced to 10 Years for Student Sex Scandal”

Must read

A 30-year-old married teacher, Carissa Jane Smith, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for engaging in sexual activities with students in exchange for money, drugs, and alcohol. Smith was found guilty of offering students $100 or more for sexual favors, as well as providing them with alcohol and marijuana. The former substitute teacher was apprehended in November last year and faced charges related to statutory rape and child sex trafficking, to which she pleaded guilty in September.

During the court proceedings, disturbing allegations surfaced, including instances where a student claimed Smith coerced him into ejaculating inside her and another where she allegedly destroyed a student’s phone to prevent a video of her engaging in oral sex from being circulated. In a separate incident, a student was reportedly lured by a classmate to Smith’s residence under the guise of earning money, only to become a victim of abuse while the friend waited outside.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Smith’s husband threatened one of the students with a baseball bat after learning about a video showing Smith smoking marijuana. One victim disclosed that the inappropriate relationship with Smith began in August 2023 when he was in middle school, and she was substituting for his class. According to police reports, Smith shared her Snapchat username with students and sent them explicit photos of herself.

Law enforcement officials stated that Smith engaged in sexual activities with students not only at her home but also in various other locations, including gravel roads, multiple times over the span of a year. The Dixon School District condemned Smith’s actions, labeling them as “disturbing and distressing.”
