A young girl has disappeared from a countryside village in Devon after being spotted entering a vehicle on Halloween.

Authorities are asking for witnesses to come forward regarding the whereabouts of Rosie, who went missing after entering a Vauxhall Astra five days ago. The teenager, who has connections to Taunton and Bridgwater, was last seen in Holcombe Rogus, a rural Devon village, just before 5pm. Avon and Somerset Police have initiated an urgent search for the schoolgirl and are requesting anyone with relevant information to contact them.

Rosie is a white female, approximately 5ft2 inches tall, with straight brown hair.

Avon and Somerset Police’s statement reads: “Can you assist us in locating Rosie, 15, who was last seen entering a blue Vauxhall Astra in Holcombe Rogus around 4.45pm on Friday, October 31. We are increasingly worried about her well-being. If you have any information on Rosie’s location, please dial 999 and quote reference 5225308184.”

Concerned members of the public have expressed their worry for the missing 15-year-old, whose disappearance notice is circulating on local Facebook groups. One user expressed, “I hope she reunites with her family safely and soon,” while another commented, “I pray she is found quickly or seeks help at a police station.” Another individual said, “Please return home safely.”

Holcombe Rogus is recognized as a tranquil rural community in Devon with a close-knit population. Situated near the Somerset border in the Mid Devon council area, the town is in proximity to other parishes like Burlescombe and Hockworthy. The vicinity comprises agricultural land, the Grand Western Canal, and the Blackdown Hills.

The town is about a 35-minute drive from Taunton and approximately 50 minutes from Bridgewater, regions where Rosie has known associations.

According to a 2001 census, the parish had a population of 503.
