A prominent British scientist, Darren Holling, lost his life in a tragic explosion on a cargo ship in Malaysia. The incident occurred while he was investigating a fire on the vessel MSC Kyparissia. Alongside Darren, two other individuals, Engineer Diaday Jason Hernia from the Philippines and safety inspector Sugumaran Kolanthai from Malaysia, also perished in the blast.

The explosion took place during container unloading operations, resulting in casualties and injuries among the crew members.
