Must read

A man convicted of murdering a couple and dismembering their bodies in a gruesome crime near Clifton Suspension Bridge has been sentenced to life in prison. Yostin Andres Mosquera, a Colombian national, was given a minimum term of 42 years behind bars for the brutal killings.

Mosquera callously killed 62-year-old Albert Alfonso by slitting his throat during a disturbing sex game, while also fatally beating Alfonso’s civil partner, 71-year-old Paul Longworth, with a hammer. The murders took place in the couple’s flat in Shepherd’s Bush, West London.

After the killings, Mosquera decapitated and dismembered the victims, storing their heads in a chest freezer and their remains in suitcases that he planned to dispose of by throwing them over the iconic bridge. However, his plan was foiled when bridge staff became suspicious and he fled the scene.

During the trial, it was revealed that Mosquera had a transactional relationship with Alfonso, engaging in extreme sexual activities. He was found guilty of both murders and additional charges related to child pornography found on his laptop.

The judge described the murders as premeditated and wicked, emphasizing the calculated nature of Mosquera’s actions. The court heard details of his chilling online searches and his attempts to access the victims’ financial accounts.

In sentencing Mosquera, the judge highlighted the severity of his crimes and the danger he poses, emphasizing that he may never be deemed safe for release. In addition to the murder charges, Mosquera was also sentenced for possessing child pornography.

The investigation into the case was described as complex and harrowing, with law enforcement officials expressing gratitude for the support received from the community. The sentencing was seen as a step towards justice for the victims and their loved ones, as Mosquera was held accountable for his heinous acts.
