The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) has decided not to penalize Fallon Sherrock for her behavior during her recent match against Dave Chisnall in the World Championship. Sherrock playfully imitated an incident involving a drinks table that her ex-boyfriend Cameron Menzies had previously damaged in frustration.
Cameron Menzies, who was left injured after venting his frustration on the table, received support from PDC chief executive Matt Porter following his defeat to Charlie Manby. Porter emphasized the PDC and PDPA’s readiness to assist Menzies, prioritizing his well-being above all else.
Both Sherrock and Menzies faced early exits from the tournament, with Sherrock losing to Chisnall and Menzies being defeated by Manby. Menzies, affected by personal challenges including the recent loss of his uncle, expressed regret for his actions on stage, acknowledging his emotional response was unwarranted.
In a post-match interview, Chisnall acknowledged the competitiveness of the game against Sherrock and praised her performance, noting that her success in hitting doubles could have altered the outcome. Chisnall is set to face Ricardo Pietreczko in the next round, while other players like Josh Rock and Nathan Aspinall are gearing up for their matches.
Young talent Beau Greaves is also set to kick off her World Championship campaign against Daryl Gurney, with the winner advancing to face Callan Rydz in the next round. The tournament promises more exciting matches as it progresses, with reigning champion Luke Littler and other top contenders vying for the coveted title at Ally Pally.
