Prince Andrew may soon leave Royal Lodge and reside in a luxurious palace in the Middle East, as per insider sources. The 65-year-old prince has been in tense discussions with palace officials regarding the future of his 30-room mansion. Facing royal discontent and public criticism, King Charles reportedly grew impatient with Andrew, who has not paid rent for the property since the early 2000s. In response to ongoing allegations, Andrew recently announced relinquishing all his royal titles, including Duke of York.
A potential solution has emerged in Abu Dhabi, with reports suggesting that Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has generously offered Andrew the use of a grand royal palace. This opulent waterfront estate, situated within a secure VIP enclave, spans over 1,500 square meters. The palace features six en suite bathrooms, a private cinema, a gym with an indoor pool, and a dedicated staff, including chefs.
Andrew’s troubles originated from his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Accuser Virginia Giuffre claimed she was trafficked to have intimate relations with Andrew when she was 17, allegations vehemently denied by the prince. Contemplating a move to Abu Dhabi, Andrew might be accompanied by his former wife, Sarah Ferguson. If he accepts the offer, Andrew would join other fallen European royals seeking refuge in the Gulf region, such as Spain’s ex-king Juan Carlos.
Similar to Andrew, Juan Carlos faced scandals tarnishing his family’s reputation. A source revealed that Abu Dhabi’s royal family extended the palace offer to Andrew, providing him an alternative if his situation in the UK worsens. With mounting pressure and discontent from the King and Prince William, Andrew could enjoy a lavish lifestyle in the UAE, despite the challenging climate. Adaptation to extreme temperatures, often exceeding 50°C in summer, would necessitate spending considerable time indoors with air conditioning.
