Tyson Fury has unveiled the top three opponents he is eyeing for his upcoming boxing return, with Anthony Joshua being a prominent name on his hit list.
The ‘Gypsy King’ previously announced his retirement early last year after consecutive losses to Oleksandr Usyk, but he has since reversed that decision. Fury has been intensifying his training regimen in recent months and is currently in Thailand honing his skills for what promises to be a significant year in the ring.
Working alongside WBC bridgerweight champion Kevin Lerena, the 37-year-old British boxer has not been shy about naming his potential rivals. Following his defeat to Usyk in December 2024, Fury has persistently expressed his desire for a rematch with his long-standing adversary.
In addition to Usyk, the former two-time heavyweight champion is also open to facing fellow Britons Joshua and Fabio Wardley. In a recent post on his official Instagram account, Fury shared a striking image of himself facing off against these three heavyweight contenders.
The possibility of a match with Wardley emerged after Fury hinted at the potential showdown, stating that a bout with the former WBO interim titleholder could be on the horizon later in 2026, pending favorable circumstances. Wardley gained recognition with a remarkable eleventh-round knockout victory over Joseph Parker, securing the WBO interim title before being promoted to full champion.
Despite fans’ interest in a trilogy fight between Fury and Usyk, the Ukrainian’s advisor indicated that such a bout seems unlikely, suggesting that their rivalry may have reached its conclusion. Meanwhile, discussions of a highly anticipated battle between Fury and Joshua were briefly reignited, but uncertainties arose following news of Joshua’s involvement in a fatal car accident in Nigeria, which claimed the lives of two close associates.
Fury’s promoter, Frank Warren, acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding a potential Fury-Joshua matchup, hinting that the fight might not materialize until late 2026, if at all. Warren expressed concerns about Joshua’s well-being following the tragic incident and emphasized the emotional toll it may have on the heavyweight boxer.
