“UK Airline Eastern Airways Ceases Operations and Cancels Flights”

Must read

Eastern Airways, a UK domestic airline, has ceased its operations and axed all flights, as confirmed by the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The regional carrier, which served six UK airports, has suspended all flight services, prompting the CAA to advise customers against heading to the airports. Destinations previously covered by Eastern Airways included Aberdeen, Humberside, London Gatwick, Newquay, Teesside International, and Wick.

The decision to halt operations follows the company’s notice of intent to appoint an administrator at the Insolvency and Companies Court, a division of the High Court, on Monday.

In response to the situation, Selina Chadha, the CAA’s consumer and markets director, issued a statement cautioning passengers not to proceed to the airport for Eastern Airways flights, emphasizing that all flights have been canceled. Affected travelers are encouraged to seek alternative travel arrangements through other airlines, trains, or coaches.

To assist affected individuals, London North Eastern Railway, ScotRail, TransPennine Express, and Northern are offering complimentary standard-class travel to Eastern Airways’ staff and customers on October 28 and 29. Passengers availing of this offer must present valid identification, such as an Eastern Airways employee ID, boarding pass, or flight confirmation, to access the complimentary travel service on eligible routes operated by the respective train companies.

Established in 1997, Eastern Airways specialized in charter flights for various sports teams, including Premier League and Championship clubs.
